YSKI goes to Singapore

Greetings, SKYers!
This July, 12 – 16 July 2023, we are excited to have a cultural exchange with Woodlands Ring Secondary School in Singapore. This is the first time we have held the Singapore trip after the pandemic. First, the fourteen students and three teachers had a school tour to see excellent WRSS classes and facilities. To commemorate Singapore’s Racial Day Harmony, Tabitha and Marcellino presented the beautiful Balinese costume on the first day of school. Six talented YSKI students, Pinayung, Andika, Tabitha, Marcellino, Sherafina, and Bravin, danced and sang Janger Bali. Our students’ performance enchanted WRSS students and teachers. It was followed by thrilling games involving WRSS and YSKI students and teachers.
Our students shared our wonderful country and beloved school on the second day. WRSS students asked questions enthusiastically. Blending with their buddies, they also had exciting experiences in Mathematics and Malay Language lessons. Another fun activity was CCA (Co-curricular Activities). They joined the Choir, Robotics, English Drama Class, and Hockey.
Besides joining meaningful school activities, our students enjoyed the breathtaking view of Singapore, such as Jewel Changi Airport, Bugis Junction, Orchard Road, Mustafa Center, Merlion Park, and Chinatown. Not only that, but we also had terrific riding on MRT, Sky train, and Monorail. We closed our trip to Universal Studios Singapore when the students transported adrenaline-pumping rides, interactive shows and various exciting attractions.
To wrap up our WRSS Singapore trip, the students gained valuable experience and interaction through WRSS school events with WRSS students and buddies and learned new things about culture, customs and traditions. So, we are looking forward to having another trip to Singapore!
